COMING IN 2008!

At the John Muir Amphitheater,
on the Martinez Waterfront

We'll be back next summer with three events under the stars:

1. MuirFest Gala 2008
July 1-3, 2008

The Diablo Symphony Orchestra and stars of the Willows Theatre in a multimedia musical celebration of our nation, featuring a concert presentation of John Muir's Mountain Days - Contra Costa's original historical outdoor musical.

2. Annie Get Your Gun
July 11-26, 2008

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show is the setting for this classic Broadway musical about life, love, romance, and the greatest sharp-shootin', song singin', sweet-lookin' gal ever seen on stage.

3. Sacagawea (World Premiere)
July 31-Aug. 9, 2008

The second in the Willows Theatre Company's 10-part series of musicals about the figures who defined the American West, this new outdoor musical drama follows Lewis and Clark on their historic 1803 expedition
from St. Louis to the Pacific Northwest, aided by the
Shoshone Indian scout, Sacagawea.

The John Muir Festival Center

is envisioned to be a gathering place where local, regional, national and international communities can meet and celebrate the life and enduring philosophy of Martinez citizens John Muir - one of California’s most celebrated residents and father of the modern conservationist movement.
