About the author: Ira Levin.
Ira
Levin was born in 1929 in New York and began his
literary career while still a student at New York
University by turning out television scripts. At age
22, he had his first novel published: a suspense story
entitled “A Kiss Before Dying,” which won an Edgar award
-- named for author Edgar Allan Poe -- the mystery
writer’s equivalent of an Oscar or Tony.
