'Mountain Days-The John Muir
Musical'
2001 Production
For 2001, Mountain Days-The John Muir Musical
moved to a site at the Martinez Waterfront, not far from the home where John
Muir lived. Some minor changes were made to the book and musical
numbers. Once again, Lee Strawn portrayed John Muir, Marsha Mercant
was Louie Strentzel Muir, and Jon Marshall was Young John Muir.
A concrete stage was poured at the site, a tiered
seating area was built, and patrons enjoyed the production from folding
chairs. A temporary
structure provided areas for lighting instruments, and a "roof" over the
central part of the stage. The original one-piece rotating set was
moved to the new venue.
